PuzzleTale

Previous Project

PuzzleTale is an interactive storytelling system that makes use of tangible puzzle pieces on the surface of an interactive table. In the PuzzleTale system, each tangible puzzle piece becomes a piece of story. By projecting digital content onto the puzzle pieces as they are assembled, the puzzle solving process becomes a storytelling activity. Different assembled patterns represent the diverse ways that users can explore and compose the story. At the same time, the decisions made during the interaction process also affect the ending of the story. In other words, the PuzzleTale system creates a dynamic causal relationship between the process and outcome of a story. Multiple story tracks and endings are performed through the assembly of the puzzle pieces in different patterns. The system engages the user in both the process and outcome of the story through their interaction and decision making, thus providing individualized storytelling experiences.
